The Lifestyle Bracing IntelliOA Unloading Knee is indicated to treat instability and pain caused by mild to moderate unicompartmental osteoarthritis and to delay joint degeneration. The novel patella buttress system of the IntelliOA™ combines with the optional hot or cold therapy to treat stiffness or swelling while reducing patella maltracking. The dynamic force straps apply three points of pressure aligning the joint and reducing contact between the bony surfaces of the knee. The brace’s anatomical design delivers homogenous compression which reduces swelling inflammation promoting healing and relieving pain. The femoral and tibial shells contour to the leg for an ergonomically, anatomic, and comfortable fit.
The orthosis is constructed out of BioMed™, a novel 1/8” perforated neoprene with thermal regulation to control heat. The material is infused with antimicrobial agents to limit odor and irritation and reducing the growth of odor promoting organisms. The tactical placement of sharkskin reduces brace migration. The lightweight and breathable webbing across the open popliteal enhances comfort and reduces skin irritation. The low-profile, multi-positional hinge provides medial-lateral and rotation control and is placed on the opposite side of the affected joint to counter varus or valgus instability.
The hinge can be customized for 10⁰, 20⁰, or 30⁰ of extension or 90⁰, 80⁰, or 70⁰ of flexion. The innovative hinge pocket allows easy access to change range of motion settings, enhancements to the degree of offloading, or for complete hinge removal if compression alone is desired for step down therapy.
